Wedding and Family Fun Weekend

This weekend was full of family and fun! :) My cousin Josh married Emily in a beautiful wedding and reception! I love family weddings because, well, all of my family's there of course! Jesse even came too! Here are some pictures from The Smith Wedding!
At the reception...
Two of my three favorite guys ever! :)
Daniel and Aunt Val playing with the pretty centerpiece...
Oh this was hilarious! Lyla literally took these next couple of pictures herself. She pushed the button and I laughed at what came up! HA!
LOVE THIS! :) And her...
This is what happened when mommy took the camera away. Temper tantrum time!
She wanted to go outside on the dock and see the water so Uncle Bobo went with her...
Ly and Uncle Bobo....
Dancing with his daughter... During the wedding and reception Carrie Underwood's "Mama's Song" and Heartland's "I Loved Her First" played and I just cried. Thinking about Lyla in that stage of her life just brought me to tears! HA!
The beautiful bride and handsome groom! Mr. and Mrs. Smith! :)
Josh is growing up! :) He's building a house down the road from where his parents and my dad live...on Smithfield Lane where we grew up! They're wedding was beautiful and fun and we had a great time!
Ly and I even danced! I did the Cha Cha Slide, The Electric Slide, and The Cupid Shuffle all with a baby on my hip! WORD! And Ly loved it! She kept saying "dance, dance"! And I was sweating like a hog! Well, maybe not that bad...
Sunday we went to the church and there are such beautiful Spring flowers outside the church that I couldn't help take a couple pics of Lyla. It's so.... SPRINGY! HA!
Well, that's all! Check out the post below about Ly's 2nd Birthday! This weekend is the ZOO!!! I cannot wait!

2nd Birthday!

Thursday was Lyla's 2nd Birthday! I know I've said it before, but I cannot believe we have a 2 year old! Where on earth has the time gone? It feels like just yesterday when she couldn't even say "momma" or "dadda" and now she's telling us what she wants and how it is! HA! This really is my favorite age so far (I've said that about every age Ly's been, I know!)...she's so fun to watch and has such a personality! I always say, "she's a mess"! And well, she is. She of course has her temper tantrums (hello terrible twos), but we're learning to work with them and hopefully teach her there's a better way to tell us how she's feeling than by laying on the floor kicking and screaming. :) Anywho, we celebrated Ly's birthday real low key Thursday night. We had family over, ate pizza, opened presents, and sang happy birthday to our sweet girl! Here are pictures from Ly's Bday! She's such a big girl now!
Rhett was watering the plants in our backyard and Ly just "happened" to get wet, so I stripped her down and let her go to town with the water hose. Here she is with her daddy drinking water the good ole country way....
Oh yes, she likes drinking from the hose I think!
I love them...
And of course, Miss Independent HAD to hold the water hose herself....
And yes, she was aiming for me. She is SOOOOOOO my daughter. :) Presents! And no I really didn't plan the polka dots thing...it just happened to work out that way. :)

And she did not need any help opening presents! Even if we tried, she said, "NO"! That's another word we hear from Lyla often. I find myself in a battle with a two year old where the conversation turns out like this:

Me: "Yes"

Ly: "No"

Me: "Yes"

Ly: "No"

Ohhhhh, it's a day-to-day battle with that thing! :)

And this was her favorite toy I think....she loves to draw and color so I'm not surprised....
Happy Birthday to Lyla! She even blew out the candle all on her own. With a little coaxing of course...
No words needed...
She was such a sweetie and wanted to share with us too!
After dinner and cake, Ly wanted to play with her water activity table from Mimi and Pop Pop)... This should keep her busy on nice afternoons! I wanted more toys for outside because she loves being outside and this is perfect!
And of course Lyla and Rhett had to try out the kite that Grammy (Rhett's mom) got her...

Country Road

We've had a nice weekend so far!  Real low key.  Friday night we went to my dad's house and had dinner and then came home and relaxed.  Saturday Rhett had a fishing tournament so it was a mommy-daughter day (and Opa too)!  We met Opa for lunch at Smokey's and then spent the rest of the day outside at his house.  It was real nice.  I love being outside, although it was definitely toasty at times!  I can only imagine how hot Summer's gonna be... eek.  Anywho, here are some pics of the last few days...
My little Southern Belle!  :)  She came out of her room wearing this hat and I thought it was too cute!
Bath time! She LOVES to brush her teeth!  I'm pretty sure it's because toddler toothpaste tastes like candy...
Oh yes!!  Lyla knows clean teeth and fresh breath are where its at!

They really are so sweet!
Here's my little Lyla strolling down Smithfield Lane, which is where I grew up and my dad still lives.  We walked back to the field at the end of the road...
There are horses back in the field and Lyla was just so enthralled by them!
Whoa!  It's real close now!
She even petted the horse too!  After Opa and I did first of course. :)
She did not want to leave the field...she kept saying "horsey, horsey, horsey"!  I think she may be one of those kids that begs for a pony one day.
AND last but not least, it's Ly's birthday week!!!  I keep asking her who's birthday it is and she'll point to herself!  HA!  She's learning! :)  I cannot believe she is almost 2!!  Where has the time gone?!
Well, that's all for now folks.  Short post, I know.  Have a great rest of the weekend everyone! :)

Spring Forward!

For Friday Fun Night, we met Melissa and Nathan at Vallartas for some very yummy Mexican food!  We haven't seen them in so long and we were so glad to hang out with our old neighbor friends, who, we were happy to find out would once again be our neighbor friends very soon!  YAYYYYY!  I have missed them so!  Anywho, after dinner we continued the fun at...the grocery store!  Oh boy!  HA!  Well, I'm just happy to be hanging out with my family so I honestly could care less what we do for fun.
Here's Melissa, Lyla, and me!  Rhett is crazy with the camera and he seriously looks like he's chopping your head off when he's taking a picture...
But obviously, he's not chopping of any heads....
Here's my sweet family....  obviously Ly was not in to this photo shoot... :-)
Saturday Rhett had a softball tournament at church Saturday.  It wasn't our church league, it was an another adult men's league.  Most of the guys played baseball at some point and they take it very seriously.  They just used our field at church to play the tournament.  Anywho, you know how when you think of a "baseball player" you think of good looking guys in tight uniforms.  Yehhhh, well that was NOT what was playing out on our field Saturday.  Oh, they were still wearing the tight uniforms....they just had beer guts to go along with them.  Not attractive.  Rhett was not among the idiots to wear an actual baseball uniform (thank goodness).  Also, a lot of the men were drinking beer BEFORE playing ball!  What the hey!  Isn't beer a depressant?  And don't you need energy to play ball?!  Well, I guess that explained the beer guts.  I was not impressed with the whole experience.  So, Ly and went to my dad's house and hung out there for awhile while Rhett finished up playing.  I have some pictures of our day over on Ly's Tumblr Page.  Saturday night Lyla spent the night with my dad for the first time ever!  More on that later.  Rhett and I went out with my cousins Jackie and Josh and their significant others Cory and Emily to celebrate Josh and Emily's upcoming wedding.  We went to Chili's, The Fish House, and Bamboo Willies.  We had such a great time and laughed so hard...but let me tell you, I have not been out until 2 in the morning in I don't know how long.  We were so tired.  Not to mention the time change took effect so really it was 3 by the time we got home and in bed!  HA!  Whooooo, I am getting old and can't handle those late nights anymore.  Anywho, here's my hubby and I before leaving....
So as I said earlier, Ly spent the night with Opa for the first time.... and he said it was a SUCCESS!   HA!  He had a little trouble getting her down to sleep, but she eventually fell asleep and slept all night long!  I was so thankful she was good to him!  :)  He said they played, ate dinner (ravioli), watched Barney, he gave Ly a bath, and he put her to bed.  Sounds like another slumber party in the future for Opa!!! :)  When we picked her up Sunday morning before church, she did not want to let go of Opa which I thought was so sweet because he loves her so much.
When she finally did get down, she immediately ran to my dad's Gator, got on, and demanded someone to sit in the driver's seat to go for a ride!  We had to head on to church so unfortunately she did not get to ride.
Finally, Lyla told us she was ready to go....
We went to church and then had a nice lunch there after the service.  Sunday afternoon, while Ly slept for like 3 hours, you know Rhett and I were sleeping too!  Trying to make up some of that lost time the night before!  That was nice!  Of course we played outside for awhile after she woke up.  The weekends go by way to fast which is definitely sad, but we had a great weekend and I can't be sad about that!
Oh, and about Ly's upcoming birthday.  I know I haven't mentioned anything about it on here.  You know, about a party.  Well, that's because we're not having a party.  We decided that the only place we'd want to throw a party would be at Chuck-E-Cheese or Triple Play or some place like that, and Ly just doesn't fully appreciate those places yet.  Her birthday is all about her and I want her to have fun!  So, we decided that we're (our families) are going to go to the zoo Saturday April 2nd to celebrate her very special 2nd birthday!  I cannot wait!  I know that she'll LOVE seeing all the animals, she's kind of in that animal loving phase right now so the zoo is perfect!  No party, just fun, family, and zoo animals...and of course, our birthday girl that we love more than life!
