3 Month Update!

Whoa! My girl's big! Well, not really big per say but she is getting so old!! =) I cannot even believe she is 3 months old! Let's see, where to begin...I am no longer breastfeeding. Little Lyla is now a formula fed baby. Mainly because I went back to work full time and I did not want to spend all my time off pumping. Pumping stunk for me, I would only pump like 3-4 ozs a sitting and my little piggy was eating 5 ozs!! Supplementing had to take place! Anywho, she likes the formula...the only bad thing is of course, the price. Oh well. Such is life. She's definitely a growing girl! I think she's been going through a growth spurt because she is always hungry and always eating about 5 ozs, if not more a sitting. About 3-4 weeks ago, she weighed about 10.5 ozs, so I'm guessing she weighs about 11.5 ozs or somewhere there abouts. She's also wearing size 2 diapers. They are a little tiny bit big on her, but the size 1's leak...so up a size we went! Oh, and let me just say her poop has soooo changed! Now that she's on formula it's like peanut butter whereas it use to be real loose. I know, TMI! And it stinks so bad! HA! Just thought I'd throw that in there. =)
My little Lyla is really starting to come along developmentally. She's reaching and grabbing for things now like stuffed animals I put in front of her and of course, my face! She hasn't rolled all the way over yet, but she is getting there. We'll lay her in her crib facing one way and when we go back to get her she's facing a completely different direction. Soon I think she will just flip on over to her stomach. Speaking of the crib, that is where she sleeps the majority of the time now. YAY for that!! She does not, however, sleep through the night yet. We will have random nights here and there where she'll sleep through the night, but most nights she'll wake up around 3ish and want to come sleep with us. Once she is in the bed next to one of us, she'll go right back to bed. My theory is that she wakes up, realizes we're not there, and wants to be next to her mommy and daddy! Anywho, we get plenty of sleep so it's okay. Ohhh, but I cannot wait for the day when she starts sleeping through the night consistently!! I will be one happy momma!
Her personality has really taken on a life of it's own. She smiles alot more and cries alot less. Now, that certainly does not mean she doesn't cry...my little girl definitely lets you know when she is not happy. However, she's happier more often then she is sad and it is so much fun! She has also started to squeal...not an "I'm mad" squeal, but an "I'm super happy" squeal. Those squeals are too cute. She will also sit for long periods of time just checking things out whereas she use to get bored real quick and start fussing. She's growing up! Her smiles melt my heart. There is nothing better in the world to me then going to pick her up after a long day at work and having her smile when she sees me. It's amazing. Rhett says the same thing...she'll be crying her eyes out one minute and then look at you and just give you the biggest grin. It's kind of funny. Her favorite thing ever to do is "supergirl". That's where anyone (mostly Rhett's dad, Rhett, or me) take her and "fly" her around the house or wherever we are. She puts her arms back and opens her mouth and just loves it. I told Rhett she's going to grow up thinking she can fly.
Well, I think that's about all the updates and changes she's went through over the past month that I can remember. Something different and new happens every single day now. Sometimes I'll be sitting there playing with her and I'll just see a different look in her eyes, one that I've never seen before...a more focused look. She's growing up. It's kind of sad in a weird way because she's no longer a newborn baby and those "focused" looks are the proof.
I know I take so many pictures, but it's because I don't want to forget a moment of her life. I want to look back on these photos when I'm 90 and remember the way she looked when she was "supergirl". I also want her to look back on them and laugh and say, "MOM! I can't believe you put me in that"! Oh, and I know she will because I did it to my mom. That's the circle of life. I just want to remember all of these crazy, amazing moments. I'm so scared her childhood will pass as fast as mine did...and I really can't bare the thought of her growing up that fast. I keep telling myself to enjoy life, no matter what's going on or wrong or whatever...just enjoy and cherish every moment.

We really love that deer-in-the-headlights look!
Happy Very 1st Father's Day to my sweet husband! He is such a good daddy to little Lyla. Having her and seeing the way he interacts and loves her just made me fall in love with him all over again. Also, Happy Father's Day to all the other fathers out there (not sure how many guys read this though). =)
Oh and of course I had to post a pic of my little Sunshine. She has brought so much joy into our lives. Wednesday she will be 3 months old!! I simply cannot believe it!! I will have to take her 3 month pics and post an update!

I Heart Summer Nights

Oh how I love the Summer nights! Mostly because it's not nearly as hot at night as it is during the day! Lord it's cookin' during the day! Anywho, Thursday night we went to Music in the Park at Seville Square. It's so nice and relaxing to just sit there, eat, and listen to the music. We will definitely try and go every Thursday we can.

Lyla and I on our way to the park!! She was a little sleepy at first...
But then she woke up and joined the fun!

What a roller coaster!

This past weekend was such a great weekend! I was just so happy! My mom and Charlie drove down for the weekend and Rhett's Aunt Kay, Uncle Steve, and Cousins Lauren and Stevie came in town as well. We got to spend a lot of good quality family time together.
Friday night after everyone got in town we all went over to Rhett's parent's house to eat boiled shrimp and steak! Rhett's Aunt, Uncle, and Cousins met Lyla for the first time and we all just sat around and caught up. Mostly, we laughed and gawked over little Lyla. She's just so cute.
Saturday me, my mom, Charlie and Lyla went to eat at Famous Dave's BBQ. Basically, that's my new fav place to eat! I love love love their BBQ sauces! Yummm...anywho, after that we went to Wally World (Walmart) and got Lyla a little pool and a floaty thing (which is WAYYY to big for her). We then went over to Rhett's parent's house and went swimming! We are definitely trying to get Ly use to the water. I want her to be a water baby and I want her to be able to swim since her grandparents have a pool, just for safety and all. Lyla liked her little swimmy pool with the canopy over it and she also liked the big pool. After swimming we all got ready and went to eat at Coach N Four. Another yum! I love that place! My mom, Charlie, Rhett, Lyla, and I went back home and just hung out and spent some time together and of course, we played some board games and dominoes! We love our game nights!
Sunday was Lyla's Baptism day!! It was so special and she was so very good! I was a proud momma! A ton of our family came to support her and after church we all went out to eat at Cock of the Walk. Yet another yummm! I mean geez, do we know how to eat or what?! =) Anywho, we said goodbye to Rhett's relatives because they were heading back home. We went home and tried to spend as much QT with my mom and Charlie as we could! I hate it when they leave! Mom and I went to Walmart and printed out I think about 300 photos (doubles, one set for me and one for her). We stood there for like an hour. It was funny. I just love taking pics, I can't help it! Sunday night we played more games and had a good ole time. My mom and Charlie basically just held Lyla the entire weekend.
Monday morning came and I was a depressed little girl. #1 My mom and Charlie were leaving, #2 I had to go back to work, and #3 I had to leave my Lyla Grace all day long. It just stunk really bad. I know I am lucky to have Rhett's mom watch her, but I want to be the one to see her grow and see all her changes. So, basically that's why I'm looking for a PT job. I don't give a hoot what it is, I just want to be able to spend more time with my daughter. I can't even begin to imagine (and I don't want to!) how much I'll miss of her growing up working full time. I know there are alot of moms out there who work full time and raise babies, but I just don't have the heart for it. Of course, it's not for sure yet because I have to find a job and Rhett and I have to work out the details financially speaking, but I am definitely in the market for a PT job. Soooo, basically that's been my weekend. It was an emotional roller coaster. I went from so unbelievably happy to downright sad and depressed. It was easier leaving her today, but I still think about her and look at pics all day long and count down the hours until I can go pick her up!

What was I thinking?!

I don't really have much to write about the weekend (I have a ton of pics though)...we went to Eufaula and I figured out quickly that Ly and I should not have gone! Now don't get me wrong, I had fun when we were hanging out with Rhett, but he fished all day long with his friends!! He woke up real early and didn't get back until dark (8ish). I knew that Rhett was going to be hanging out with the boys the whole time, what was I thinking going?! Last year it was okay because I was able to lay out, drive around, walk around town, and see a movie, but that would definitely all have been difficult to do with my little Lyla in tow! I don't really know what I expected. I suppose it really hit me like a rock how much my life has changed. Of course for the better, I have a huge reason to wake up every morning now. There was just nothing for Lyla and I to do there and it was rainy. Lyla and I basically just hung out in the cabin alllllll day by ourselves and I was going nuts! I told Rhett that if Lyla and I had to be alone the whole weekend, I'd rather be home alone in the comfort of our own home. Sooo, Rhett's parents came and got Lyla and I. No doubt they wanted another opportunity to see Lyla Grace. Whatever the reason they offered to come and get us is fine by me. After they picked us up we ate dinner at a really nice and yummy restaurant in downtown Eufaula. We then proceeded on our way home and oh my goodness was it a long drive home. Lyla is definitely fussier at night and she let us have it almost the entire way home. 3 and 1/2 hours. Whoa. She finally fell asleep somewhere during our drive. So, lesson learned here. My life is no longer my life...it belongs to my little girl. I have to do whatever's best for her, not me. That's fo sho! So anywho, here's pics from our weekend!

Lyle and her giant ladybug bean bag! She'll probably enjoy it more when she's older I'm sure.
AIRPLANE!! Lyla loves playing with her daddy! "WEEEEEEEE"!
She loves him, you can just tell. =)
I love that face, so cute!
I love her more than anything in the universe!
