Catching up and Turkey Day!

Hello all! It's been a long time since I've blogged! At least it feels that way to me. We've been really busy...I just haven't taken many pictures or had time to blog, for that matter. Anywho, we've been trying to enjoy the time we have together on the weekends by doing fun things with Lyla. She is definitely our world...
She loves to play "ice" (outside)!!!! She is constantly asking us to go "ice", so I'd say she is definitely an outside kind of girl.
That is, until she starts taking off her shoes...we tell her she can't play outside without shoes on and what does she do? Takes them completely off. Soooo, Daddy had to get on to her and she pitched a fit. That's what this is....
Rhett's "discipline" face...
Shoes back on and she's back playing!
Oh my goodness! We have a basket full of her hair clips and she LOVES for me to put them in her hair all at once. She is silly.
Mommy brought home a treat after work...a gingerbread man from Panera Bread!
Of course, yesterday was Thanksgiving! I know everyone always goes on and says what they're thankful for and well, I'm no different! I'm so thankful for my husband and my baby girl! I love coming home from work and having them both there! It's awesome and makes me the happiest girl ever! :)
Here's the men in my fam congregating while the women cook. I know, right?
My Grammy and all the pies! Oh my!
My dad leading Ly...or trying to...She can be hard to wrangle.
We ate outside and enjoyed the pretty scenery at my Aunt Val and Uncle Terry's house.... What would Thanksgiving be without my Turkey Shirt??! I've had this shirt since I was like 10. Cool, right?! :)
Lyla surely did enjoy the pies!!!
After my family's Thanksgiving, we went over to Rhett's parent's house for his family's Thanksgiving. We ate alot there too, I just don't have any pics! Sooooo, halftime is over in the Auburn v. Alabama game so I better get back to my spot on the couch....as hard as the game has been to watch, hopefully Auburn got a talking to in the locker room!!! WDE!

Quality Time

Friday night was the last football game of the season for Tate (HALLELUJAH!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!) and as you might can tell, I'm happy about that. I have a husband again. YAY! :) Saturday we went to the Gulf Coast Arts Festival downtown for a little while. There is so much there that I love and would love to buy, unfortunately Rhett and I cannot afford thousands of dollars for art which seemed to be the going rate for most of the pieces I saw. Alas, maybe one day... for now, I shall continue to shop at TJ Maxx! :) Saturday night we went to Rhett parent's house and watched the LSU v. Alabama game (we listened to the Auburn game on the radio earlier in the day...10-0 WDE!). We had fun torturing Rhett's dad, who happens to be a die-hard Alabama fan. Anywho, fun times. Sunday we went to church and then lunch at O'Charley's with my dad. After church we went by my cousin Jackie's house and picked up a toddler slide that her children no longer used. We are so grateful for hand-me-downs! :) Ly LOVES the slide. It's pretty steep and she goes so fast...and loves it! Sunday we also took down the Halloween decorations and put up the Christmas. It just makes sense to me to do it all at one time instead of getting back in the attic and such. Also, I love having Christmas decorations out for a long time, gives us more time to enjoy them! Ly loved all the decorating, especially when it came to the tree! Anywho, here are some pics from our weekend...
PIGTAILS! And yes, she is chewing on my MP3 player... I can't get over how cute they are! :)
Yay for having a slide in our backyard! :)
Not the best quality photo, but here's an action shot of Ly sliding!
Trying to go up the slide part, which did not work well for Ly.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Summerford's! :)
Ly helping her daddy with the ornaments...
One of my favorite ornaments...I got this the year I was pregnant with Ly...
She loved handing to the ornaments to me and Rhett...
Another favorite... (from Aunt Jo!) Born to be an Auburn Tiger!
Putting an ornament on the tree... I cannot wait to spend another Christmas season with my sweet family. I am a lucky gal. :)

All Hallows' Eve!

Halloween is by far, my favorite holiday of the year! I love it! I love the weather, the candy, the costumes, the fun, the festivals... I could go on and on. Anywho, this Halloween Lyla was a pretty little fairy princess. I added the princess part but whatev! :) She's always a princess!
She loved loved loved wearing her costume! We will definitely play dress up in it in the future. What was also so fun was getting her ready for trick-or-treating. Along with her costume, I decided to put makeup on her. You know, just a little for fun. Oh she loved it! It just made my heart swell, not because she likes to put on makeup, but because that's something that we can do for fun together...play dress up just mommy and daughter. I loved it! She loved the blush and the pink eyeshadow and the pink lipstick. She was so still and she knew she was so cute! Here she is for picture time before we actually left to go trick-or-treating...
Her fairy wings! :)
Our first stop was my dad's house. We of course had to stop and see him....
Rhett and Ly at my dad's house. I thought her face in this picture was funny... she was caught off guard which usually happens because her mommy is forever snapping pictures!
Peeking around daddy's leg!
My dad letting Ly pick the candy she wanted... as you can see she got a mouth full of candy corn.
We decided to go trick-or-treating in Milestone this year. We heard great things about the decorations on the houses and such so we thought, "Sure, why the heck not?!" and boy, am I so glad we did. That neighborhood has such a cute, small town-like feel and the houses were decorated so well!
Ly was pretty shy at first. She's like her mommy, cautious at first, but then once she's comfortable she lets loose! By the time we were a few houses down, she had this whole trick-or-treating thing down pat! She walked up, grabbed the candy from the people, Rhett and I said thank you for her, and then she was already turned around walking back and around to the next house! It cracks me up how a 1 and 1/2 year old can learn the art of getting lots and lots of candy so fast.
She loved holding her bag too. She even cried when we took it away in fact. She also cried when I took off her fairy wings too. She had a great time dressing up for the night! And Rhett and I loved watching her have so much fun!
The next few photos don't have anything to do with Halloween, they're just randoms.
Here's Ly downing some ravioli. She is getting so good with a fork! It really is amazing watching her development!
When I say she loves her Aubbie, I'm totally not exaggerating.
Playing under the dining room table. She just looks so grown up to me here. I'm not quite sure why. Maybe it's because this is her "spot". She loves to bring toys and play under the dining room table. It's like a fort or something...
And finally, here's me and my girl!
BTW, my new job is going great! It's going to be such a challenge for me, just because of all the information I'm going to have to learn (it's like taking another college class or something). However, with that said, I am finding it all very interesting and that is awesome! I like what I'm doing and the new people I have met so I am very happy with that. I of course miss my baby girl while I'm work....but I'm working to live, not living to work. :)
