Sunday Fun!

Sunday was a really fun and gorgeous day! We started the day at church. Ly showed everyone she learned to walk since the last time we were there (two weeks ago)! After church we went to lunch with my Dad at Sonny's. We have found that one of Ly's go-to foods is mac n cheese. She loves it like her Mommy loves it. After Sonny's we went home, changed, and headed off to the Eastern Shore Shopping Center to play in the fountain park! When we first arrived, I immediately recognized our friends Kim and Savannah Cox! Savannah is one day younger than Lyla so they are pretty much exactly the same age! It was so fun to watch them play together! We will definitely have to get the girls together more often! :) After playing in the fountains, we went to the Bass Pro Shop per Rhett's request. All we did was walk around, but even doing just that makes Rhett happy. We came home after a long day and had Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo. It's been a pasta kind of weekend here I guess. Anywho, I hope everyone had a great weekend too!
Here is little Ly after church. She was showing all our fam how good she walks now! :) Leaving Sonny's! Mmm mmm good!
We were so happy we ran into The Coxs!
Playing with Savannah in the water! Fun!
Aww, sharing!
Both born in March of 09!
Ly was having the best time! It took her a little while to warm up to all the chaos, but soon she was heading straight for all the fun!
Dodging the water! Ha ha! It almost looks like she's running here, but let me tell you...her pace is like 2 mph. Definitely not a speed demon...yet.
Fun in the sun! I love this splash park!
My cutie with her hot bikini on... and her diaper sticking out of course. :)
They are so cute! One of my absolute favorite things is to watch babies play together... A stop at the Bass Pro Shop is a must...

Ly Loves Spaghetti!

We've had a busy couple of days! Thursday afternoon, Jill and Kennedy came over for a fun play date! I love watching the babes play together! Especially now that Lyla walks, I think she's more fun for Kennedy to play with. Jill and I then discussed watching Avatar the following night, sooo that's what we did! Friday night we went over to The Manny's, ate pizza, put the babies to sleep, and watched Avatar. Avatar was really good! The imagery was amazing, but then that's what everyone's been saying for months and I just now got to watch it! Anywho, we had a fun Friday night! :)
Kennedy loved to be pushed in the little pink car and Ly was all about pushing her! HA! Breaking a sweat...
These two are a mess!
They get into just about everything!
Saturday was a rainy day here in P'Cola (and I think pretty much the rest of the South!). So we just basically stayed inside all day long and played and relaxed and then napped and then played more and then, ate Ly's favorite... Spaghettti! Whoa! Does she love her some spaghetti! She made an incredible mess, but then babies do I guess.
Lyla was beat after playing all day!
Spaghetti night!
Lyla's favorite, can you tell?!
"What mess"!?
This is for you Mom! This was when she was talking to you on the phone, or better yet, when you were singing to her! :) She's excited about seeing you THIS Friday!
We are hoping for a nice warm day tomorrow so maybe, just maybe we can take Ly to the fountain park thing in the Malbis shopping center. She's walking pretty good, so it will be a test run! :)

Girls Weekend!

Rhett went out of town this weekend with the baseball team, so basically, it was just Ly and I.

Side Note: I cannot imagine being a single parent! I have so much respect for people who juggle it all on their own... a baby, a job, a social life...

With that said, I missed Rhett so much! Yes, I missed my best friend, but more than that... I missed my partner! That's what we are in this whole parenting thing. Partners. I can't do it without him (well, I could I guess but it'd be incredibly exhausting) and he couldn't do it without me.
Anywho, Friday night Ly and I met my Dad at Petrella's for a yummy dinner. That day my poor Ly started to exhibit symptoms of Roseola. Well, let's backup...she actually started showing signs on Wednesday I believe. She had a fever (102.7 <--- Ha, like the country station) so I took her to the doctor the next day. He checked everything and everything checked out okay. He warned me to be on the lookout for a red rash that could come up all over Ly's body. I was thinking, "yeh right". But sure enough, the next day she got a bad rash on her bottom, got fever blisters on her mouth, and then the rash spread to her legs. Roseola for sure. Everything's fine now. It's almost all gone. It's just one of those "things" with kids I guess. Funny story about this picture. While I was getting ready Saturday morning, Lyla was playing in our room and in our drawers...well, I turn and look at her and she has my panties around her neck like a necklace!!! What the?! New fashion trend perhaps?? Saturday Ly and I woke up (bright and early at 6 am...yay) and just played around the house. Later that day we went up to the Farmer's Opry House and met Rhett's parents there for some Bluegrass Music! Holla! We had a yummy lunch and dinner and listened to some great music. After dinner, Ly and I made our way home and got ready for bed.
Lyla and her Grandfather, whom she loves alot! And I think he loves her too... just a hunch.
Sunday morning we woke up and I was going to go to church, but then I thought twice. There is a possibility that Roseola is contagious so I couldn't take the chance of unleashing it on the children in the nursery. Soooo, Ly and I went to lunch at Bagleheads, just us girls. :) It was nice. Ly always gets alot of attention from people (which she absolutely just loves and eats up) so we had some other folks to talk to. After that, we came home and took a much needed nap! Both of us! Whoa, did I need one! My Dad came over and visited for a little bit and brought over a cute little sundress he got for Ly. Shoot, I wish people sent/brought over cute little sundresses for me. I was looking in my closet today and I am definitely needing a new wardrobe. Ahhhh, well that will have to wait for when Rhett and I win the lottery. For dinner, Ly and I had pancakes and eggs. She loves breakfast and so do I! After I got her bed, I laid up in bed and continued my Dexter obsession! Thank Mom! :) PS. I just finished all of them tonight! :( I want more! Rhett finally got home around 8:30 pm and I was so happy to see him! I know he was sad he missed Lyla before her bedtime, but look, homefry wasn't fixing to wake her up!
Playing while Mommy cooks pancakes for din din! I had to keep her busy, and well, tupperware and measuring cups did the trick!
Monday, I took off from work and so did Rhett so we were able to spend at least one day together! We went with Rhett's mom to The Grand Marlin, a new restaurant on the beach. It was pretty good! The view was to die for! :) The rest of the day we spent chilling at home watching Lyla walk around more and more! She's starting to really enjoy walking so that's awesome! It's definitely so weird to see her walk around because she doesn't seem as "babylike" anymore. My girl's growing up!
Me and my girl...
Eating at The Grand Marlin.
We had a very nice view...
Girls weekend = SUCCESS! Which means, we both survived!

A step in the right direction

Lyla took a couple steps this week! On her own!! She's starting to want to stand more, instead of always crawling...so soon, my little girl should be walking! It's so fun and exciting to watch her learn new things. I can't even tell you how excited Rhett and I were when she took those couple of steps! It was only a couple, but moments like that are the things that excite me now... Anywho, so here are pictures from our week! Some of Ly when she took her steps (although you can't tell in pics) and the rest are just randoms!
Cooking with Daddy...she's such a helper! :)
THE HOKEY POKEY! She LOVES it when Daddy does the Hokey Pokey with her!
My girl! She's so funny! She would get in a crouched position and then stand up from there... she never really use to do that. Then she just took some steps! :)
What's funny is that she would only do it in the kitchen?! Why, I have no idea!
"AHHHH! I can't believe I just walked on my own"!!!
One of my favorite shirts of hers.... on the front it says "I believe in fairies" I just thought I'd throw one in of Aubbie. My poor pets have definitely taken a back seat to Lyla, but we still love them so much! :)
YAY! It's dinner time!
Her first TV dinner...well, actually it was some Gerber dinner. But it looked like a TV dinner for sure!
Fixing to leave and go watch Daddy's last baseball game! Holla!
HA! I love this face! :D
Me and my honey! Rhett's going out of town for baseball this weekend and Ly and I are so very sad! We will miss him! GIRLS WEEKEND!

Weekend Roundup

I warned you! I said I would be posting more, and see! I have been! I don't know if I'll be able to keep it up, especially on weekdays when I come home from work. But, I suppose I should never say never. Anywho, well you know from the previous two posts that Friday night we went to Rhett's baseball game and Saturday during the day we went to the beach. The rest of our weekend was really just as fun and nice. Saturday afternoon we took a walk around our neighborhood. It was just gorgeous outside! Lyla loves taking walks (in her case, rides) on pretty Spring afternoons! Saturday night we met our old neighbor friends (and I say old because they no longer are our neighbors) The Smiths at Chili's. It was fun catching up with them! It has been wayyy too long! We had fun talking about a good time for us to go up to Montgomery and visit them! Sunday we went to church and then to Smokey's for lunch! I tell ya, sometimes I feel like our lives revolve around food. Now we are just relaxing and enjoying yet another gorgeous afternoon!
She loves her little pink car! "Let's go Mom"!
Cruising with Daddy...
She looks so gansta here... ha ha.
Lyla Grace and her Mommy
She definitely has her Daddy wrapped around her tiny little finger. Lyla and Melissa at Chili's!
The Smiths and our Lyla! They will always be our neighbors in our hearts! :)
Oh no! Nate looked at her "wrong".
Just us girls...
Two men and a little lady :)
Gorgeous flowers outside our church = a good photo opp (I know, I'm nuts). Hi, my name's Heather and I'm addicted to taking pics of my fam.
SPRINGTIME!
If Lyla could talk she would say, "Thank you Auntie Kristi for my super cute sundress"...but since she can't talk I'll say it for her! Thank you Kris!! We love and miss you!
She loves peeking through Daddy's legs...
