It's that time of year!

**Warning! As per usual, there are a ton of pics! Mom, I know you're happy!**

It's that time of year, and when I say that, I mean it's time for football! Yayyyy....yeh, humph. I'm not the biggest football fan, but I am a huge supporter of my husband. And if he loves coaching football, well then by golly I'm gonna go out and watch him! =) Rhett now has another huge supporter, little Lyla! So I had to make her a little THS onesie of course! I got a pack of 6 white onesies, so I made her one THS one and then I had 5 more that I had to figure out something to do with. So I am getting real crafty I think! I made her 5 (should have been 6, but I screwed one up) cute, personalized outfits for $30. That's awesome!
Here's my first creation... And my second...
Getting ready for Halloween! =)
Anywho, so Friday night off to the Tate game we went! Lyla must be a lucky little charm because Tate beat West FL Tech 35-0! Whoo hoo! Rhett loved Lyla's outfit, he told me later he was so happy we were there. Yeh, I knew that Rhett! =)
Sher's ready for the game!
The front of the onesie I made for her and Ly's goofy face... SUMMY! That's what some folks call Rhett...
Like father, like daughter...
Saturday I went and got my hair touched up in the morning. Hallelujah! I have been needing that! That afternoon Rhett, Lyla, and I went to the mall to check out some Halloween costumes I saw. We've narrowed it down to a couple choices. I cannot wait for Halloween! It is my favorite time of the year so I just want to make it that much more special for my baby girl. Saturday night we met Rhett's parents for dinner at Outback. From there Rhett's parents took Lyla home with them so we could go watch The Orphan. Okay, so The Orphan was such a creepy, good movie! I love movies that have twists at the end! After the movie we picked up Ly and proceeded home to bed!
My princess...
Lyla and I, with may I add, my new touched up hair.
Her shirt says "Daddy's wrapped around my finger"....yep, it's true.
She loved playing with blocks!
My cute little girl
Sunday was church and just basically a lazy day at home. It was pouring rain outside and luckily, Lyla was ready for a nap so we laid on the couch and slept for like 2 hours. Nicccccce! I love those kinds of naps! All in all, it's been a pretty good weekend. Next weekend we may go to Auburn? We're still unsure. Anywho, have a great week everyone!
All dressed up for church!

5 Month Update!

Okay, so hear it goes again...I can't believe my little girl is already 5 months old! I know, every month I probably say the exact same thing or something similar, but it's so very true. Everyone who told me that the time would just fly by with her and that she'd grow up so fast right before my very eyes, I never knew how right on they were. So here we are, she is another month older and with every month brings more and more new things happening.
Let's see, I don't know how much she weighs...so I guess I can skip that part. She's not much bigger than she was at her last doctor's appointment, maybe a little chunkier...who knows. She wears 3-6 month clothes....with very few 6 months (if any at all). But yes, she can still fit into a lot of 3 month stuff which is great because we are getting some good wear out of them!! Sadly, I did have to go through her drawers and closet and clean out the clothes that no longer fit her (which happen to fill a garbage bag and a half). Rhett says we need to have a garage sale and sale all of it, but I keep reminding him that we need to keep all her clothes, because even though he wants a boy next go around...that doesn't mean that's what he'll get! Anywho, on with the update. We still are not sure what color her eyes are or are going to be. I swear, it's hard to tell! Some times they will look more brown than green and vice versa, but then sometimes they look dark blue?! What the? I guess they are still changing. I'm still going to go with hazel, but like I said they look different all the time. She doesn't have any birthmarks or any freckles or anything...I keep looking, but I haven't found any. I don't know if they show up later? Her hair I do believe is going to be very dark just like her Daddy's. It has always been extremely dark since the day she was born, so that's just my guess. Hmm, I'm trying to think of any more physical things that I may be missing...whelp, that's all I got. On to development and personality!
She really is doing so many new and surprising things every day! From screeching and finding her voice to rolling over and over and over every time we put her down! She is a busy body. She likes to squeal now. Not because she's upset, but because it's fun...I guess. She sure acts like it is. But I do love it! It's seriously one of the cutest and sweetest noises to my ears! I know that within the next few months she'll start saying mama or dada or both, but it is a war between Rhett and myself as to which she will say first! I'm always saying, "Mama, mama, mama..." to her and Rhett says, "Dada, dada, dada...did you hear that Heather? She said Dada"! To which I say, "Yeh right"! But I do know that the day when she says one or the other for the first time will come soon! I'm excited about that! Even if she does say dada first! Now for the rolling over portion, Lord have mercy she is a rolley poley! Geez, every time we lay her down, she immediately just rolls over and gets up like she could crawl (but she's not anywhere close to crawling yet, FYI). But anywho, her rolling has been a problem when we put her to bed because we'll lay her down in her crib thinking she's asleep and then she'll roll over! Crazy girl. Also, it's made diaper changes a bit more difficult. Oh well, she's coming along developmentally though, that's for sure. She sits up quite well for a few minutes, but then gets tired and starts to slouch or topple over. She's gaining her strength though. It really and truly is amazing to watch her grow and change seemingly overnight! I do believe that she is getting better and better at eating baby food. So far, I've fed her prunes, pears, peaches, and bananas. She's liked them all and so far she hasn't been picky, but fruits are yummy anyway. We will see what she thinks of veggies soon. Her sleeping patterns have gotten alot better. There will be random nights where she will be fussy, but most nights she sleeps from about 8 pm to 6 am. We'll take sleep like that any night!!
Lyla has such a cute little personality. She smiles alot, but also has her grumpy moments. She is definitely like me! If she's grouchy, good luck getting her to smile! She's getting better with strangers. Apparently, her fear of strangers did not last long. She smiles at pretty much anyone who comes up to her and says hi. She's good in the church nursery and she let's lots of people hold her. That is, except my grandparents! Bless their hearts, I don't know what it is...but she cries every time one of them holds her. They just love her so much and all they want to do is hold her, so I tell her to behave every time I hand her over to one of them but it never works. I am hoping she will grow out of that and be sweet to her great grandparents!! Lyla has really gotten into giggling! She's giggles here and there before, but now she has turned into a little giggle box! ! I love it. Peek-a-boo is a favorite and is sure to make her laugh. Her giggles are definitely a favorite of mine.
So, that's about it for her 5 month update. Although I did want to touch on how much being a mother has meant to me. I know all of my pictures of Lyla are of her smiling or doing something funny or cute, but I don't want to give the impression that she is just so happy-go-lucky all the time or that we always do fun stuff or that it's always so easy. Because let me just say, it is often times a far cry from perfect. Being a mother is the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life...and I mean everything I've ever done in my life! That's a ton of life experiences and of all those, motherhood takes the cake. There are times when I want to pull my hair out because she won't stop crying and I've tried everything I know to do to get her to stop crying. I just have to make myself take a step back, calm down, and relax because if I'm upset too, then there is no way she's calming down anytime soon. One of the biggest things I've learned from being a mother (in these 5 short months) is that I will undoubtedly make many mistakes, but ultimately there is no right or wrong way to raise my baby girl. Yes, there have been hard times these past few months. Many sleepless nights, cry fests, and too many stressed out and worriesome moments to count! But, I can tell you that this not only has been THE most difficult time in my life (trying to figure out to be the best mother I can be), it's also been THE most rewarding. I love Lyla more than anything in the world. A love I cannot explain. When I look her, my heart swells. She is worth everything that I've sacrificed for her and everything that I will sacrifice for her. I'm no longer a selfish person anymore. There is no way you can be with a child. She has changed me mind, body, and soul and I thank God everyday for deeming me worthy enough to have her.

Saturday + Family Time = My Favorite!

Umm, your paci's in the wrong way Lyla! =)
Today was a very fun Saturday! Basically it was my day to do whatever I wanted to do as a fam, which is nice because we don't get too much time to spend together...what with Rhett coaching all the time and football season pretty much in full swing (yay..). Sooo, after we picked Lyla up from her grandparent's in the morning, we went to the beach!! Whoo hoo! Lyla's first trip to the beach! First time she will put her little toes in the sand and in the ocean! I thought, "she'll so love it, right"??! WRONG! HA! She hated it! At first she was interested in the sand, but then I just think it annoyed her (like it does me actually, I hate being sandy). Then I decided to take her to the water. I dipped her little toes in and she cried!! Umm, that was definitely a no-go! We're thinking next year she'll be a little more in to it. At least I hope so! After the beach, we went back home and we all had much needed baths. We then went out to Navarre to see Rhett's dad referee little league football (I knew Rhett wanted to see him, so yes I allowed us to go out and watch a few minutes of football...I know, I'm sweet right?). However, before actually getting to the little league park we stumbled upon The Butterfly House in Navarre. It was so neat!! They had all different kinds of butterflies just flying around. I think Lyla really enjoyed that too. Anywho, after the little league park we drove back home on the recently opened road between Navarre and Pensacola Beach. What a scenic drive!! It's just beautiful! The whole way you're driving right by the water. I loved it! After being out in the heat, I decided that we needed to get some ice cream, so to Baskin Robbins we went! Yummm! We then went to Toys R Us, not necessarily to buy anything, but just to let Lyla look at everything. I think Toys R Us is very visually stimulating for a baby. There is so much to look at and play with. Needless to say, Lyla loved it and we got a bunch of smiles and giggles. Definitely worth the trip. After Toys R Us we picked up Rhett's mom and went to dinner at Cock of the Walk. And now, after having had a very yummy dinner, we are home and Lyla is in bed. She is surely exhausted from the long and fun day! I really do think that she loves to be out and see new places and people. Basically, we had a great Saturday! And the great news is, we have Sunday (and Monday for me!) left!!
Just getting to the beach....
"Look how beautiful it is Lyla"...
She seemed to be a little scared of the noise the waves made rushing up onto the shore...
Trying to pump her up for the big dip!
Oh no, she's saying, "get me out of here mommy"!! As soon as I picked her up out of the water, she stopped crying. What's that tell you?
Tired of the beach...
Literally tired from the beach... =)
Fun in the bathtub!! She is really starting to love her squirty toys!
She opens her mouth and wants us to squirt water in there! Funny girl!
She loves bathtub water more than beach water, apparently.
Ready to see Grandfather at the little league game!
The only reason I like this pic is because of the way she's looking at me...she loves me! I just knew it!
We are in love with eachother basically. <3
Okay, that's all!! Monday Lyla will be 5 months!! Holy mess!! I will post a 5 month update for sure!

Just Chillin'

You're going to notice a trend with the pictures in this post. They're mostly (pretty much all) of little Lyla sitting up! She is getting so good at it and can sit for a couple minutes unassisted, and then she topples on over. But usually I (or Rhett) catch her before she topples...it still amazes me how fast she is growing. It saddens me at the same time. It's weird. I want to see her crawl and all that stuff, but then I want her to stay a cute little baby too! Oh well, I know that I cannot freeze time...oh wait! With pictures I can! YAY! Problem solved...sorda. =)
My little animal =)
Just playing around Again, my angel...

So sweet and special...the love between a father and daughter...
Okay, so she's had enough play time outside...
My baby girl's growing up!

Savannah and so much more!

Good grief! I get so behind in blogging and by the time I have a chance to blog, I have so so so much to catch up on. So, yet again, this post will have a billion, gazillion photos. But my mom likes them so it's okay. =)
I believe I will start Wednesday morning. Wednesday, I had to say goodbye to one of my very great friends Melissa. She moved to Montgomery to pursue her law degree. I am so proud of her and her determination, however I will miss her (and her crazy hubby) so very much! Ly and I WILL visit you Melissa at some point this Fall while Rhett's busy with football!

Thursday night Rhett and I met Jill, Kennedy, and Mrs. Nancy down at Dharma Blues. Rhett's parents and their friends were there as well so we had a rather large crowd and basically, 2 very precious babies! I always just love seeing little KP (and of course Jill) and how much she's grown! I think she's like 5 months older then Lyla, maybe a little more, so it's so interresting to see what Lyla will be doing soon. KP is such a sweet, fun baby!! You can't help but love her. I think she overwhelmed little Lyla a little, but it was absolutely hilarious! They are going to be great friends, I just know it!

Cute girls!
Take 1! Cute pic! However, it would be SO much cuter if the little babies looked at the camera when we wanted them too!
Take 2!
Friday after work, we left for Savannah to visit Wes and Kelly! We had an amazing time! We went to the mall (Bass Pro Shop more specifically, for Rhett), walked on River Street, hung out at City Market, ate at some pretty darn good restaurants, took a Ghost and Gravestones trolley tour, and just relaxed and played dominos at Wes and Kelly's place. The weekend past too quickly of course and before we knew it we had to say goodbye to Wes and Kelly. I really do hate goodbyes. And I know Rhett really, really misses his brother. We are definitely going to make more trips to Savannah in the future!
Outside the Bass Pro Shop. Of course we had to go there for Rhett!
Me, Lyla, and her new friend the racoon. Whom she loved very much!
Out to dinner with the fam at The Pirate House!
Mmm, FOOOOOOD! She's getting more and more interested with what we put in our mouths.
My family of three...
Ly's cute, Rhett's hot, and I'm a lucky girl. =)
Sight seeing on River Street
The Summerford Clan on River Street
My love and I
Ghosts and Gravestones Trolley Tour!
Peek-a-boo! Lyla's making sure her mommy was still following along behind during the tour.
Oh so scared during the trolley tour...
So this is funny. My mom and I have been collecting these beanie babies (for Lyla of course) that come in the McDonalds Happy Meals. =) I really really wanted the Ladybug and finally, today I got it! YAYY! It's not pictured here though. Lyla loves them because they are what we call "Lyla size".
And finally, last but certainly not least! Lyla would like to thank her sweet Aunt Jo Jo for getting her two super cute outfits! This is one, the one that fits her now. Thank you so much Jo!!

Oh, one more thing. I surely could not fit all the pics I took on here (maybe I could but it would take forever and that would be ridiculous), so here's a link to all the pics on Facebook:
