Life with a toddler...

I was trying to take pictures with Ly this afternoon and this is how it progressed....
Ok, ok...my eyes are closed in pictures sometimes too...
Oh, now she wants to play!
I just might as well give up!
If you ignore the cute little tiny tongue sticking out of my daughter's mouth...this is the best we got.
She NEVER sits still anymore.  Those days are long gone.  I love her busy nature though.  She's so much fun!  Libby was sitting on the table in Ly's playroom and I told Ly to go stand next to Libby so I could take a picture of the both of them together.  What does she do?  She climbs on top of the table next to Libby.  I guess she thought, "if the cat can do it, why can't I"?  Hmmm.

Fly By

This weekend went by WAYYYYY too fast, as the weekends usually do.  As you'll see from my post, I didn't  take too many pictures on my "big" camera.  I did however, take a few more pictures on my iPhone and I post those on  Lyla's Tumblr Page pretty frequently.  Anywho, onto our weekend...
Friday night is Family Fun Night around these parts.  We've definitely deemed it Family Fun Night because both Rhett and I look forward to Fridays all during the work week, so we always enjoy doing something fun as a family our first night off on the weekend.  This Friday night we did what Rhett wanted to do...we went to a baseball game at Tate.  We ate hot dogs, french fries, cheese sticks, and lots of coke!  Lyla actually enjoyed watching the game (and eating) and she even clapped when balls were hit or plays were made (however, often times it was for the other team...oops.).  We had a nice night.
Saturday Rhett fished in a fishing tournament all day long.  Ly and I "slept in", but I don't think I can really say that.  Ly woke up at 6:15 am, I put her in bed with me (Rhett was already long gone!), and I tried to get her to go back to sleep but she wasn't having it.  We stayed in bed for an hour before I finally gave up.  While Ly watched Barney, I made scrambled eggs for breakfast to start the day.  After we got all ready we went over to my dad's for lunch.  Guess what we had for lunch?  HOT DOGS!  I can't get away from those things!  HA!  Ly loves hot dogs so she certainly didn't mind.  Anywho, after lunch we came back home so Ly could take her nap.  God must have answered my prayer for Lyla to be chill that afternoon because she took a 3 hour nap!  Oh that was nice!  When Rhett got home from his tournament, it was time for us to go to the Valentine's Day dinner at our church.  I didn't think Rhett was going to make it in time to go, but thankfully he got home just in time.  He got ready the fastest he's ever gotten ready in his life (with a little push from yours truly) and we were off!  Lyla went too and stayed in the nursery while we enjoyed a nice steak dinner.  The picture above is of Rhett and I at the dinner and the one below is my dad and I...
Sunday we went to church and then to Cock of the Walk for lunch.  We tried to go to Tokyo for lunch, but sadly, they are closed for Sunday lunch.  Boo.  Lyla enjoyed the ducks and chickens none the less.  That afternoon, after Ly's nap, we took her to the park and then came home and took a walk around the neighborhood.  I definitely try and get Ly outside as much as possible because I definitely think the sunshine and fresh air are healthy!  And she surely loves to be outside!  For dinner I picked up KFC and we had a nice, simple meal at home.  Lyla loves corn-on-the-cob and I must say, I love watching her eat it! :)

The weekends absolutely fly by now-a-days.  I'm learning to take every moment in and enjoy it to it's fullest!

A Free Spirit

The picture above is a nightly occurrence at our household. When it's time for Ly's bath...we strip her down and then she bolts. She runs through the house and LOVES for us to chase her...while she's naked! She truly is a free spirit!
Today was an awesome day! I took off from work and spent the day with my love. We spent most of the day outside, either at the park or outside our own house. She had such a great time. She didn't ever want to come inside!
Here she is riding her 4-wheeler...
She's an outdoorsy kind of girl!
WEEEEEEEEEE!
DOUBLE WEEEEEEEEEE!
My sweet sweet girl. I love her more than words can say. I am so thankful I was able to spend today with her. Can't wait for the weekend! :)

Day O' Love!

The night before V-day, my dad stopped by and surprised Ly and I with some fun V-day surprises!  He really is so sweet!  He loves Lyla so much, it's basically written all over his face! :)
Valentine's Day was real nice (except for the fact that I had to work of course), but I came home not only to my two loves, but also an edible arrangement!  Rhett truly knows the way to my heart....chocolate covered strawberries!
Lyla enjoyed playing with the balloons!
Like I said in a previous post, Rhett was going to surprise me with where we were going to eat for V-day...and it was a surprise all the way up until we got there.  More about that in a minute.  Rhett's parent's were so sweet and babysat Ly and let her spend the night.  Here's me with my Valentines before Rhett's parents picked up Ly for the evening...

Anywho, we ended up going to The Wild Olive in Crestview.  Oh man, was it worth the drive!  I'm so glad Rhett chose somewhere that we've never been before!  The food was outstanding!  Here's one of my favorite parts... Creme Brulee!  We had such a nice, quiet and relaxing Valentines night.  I am so happy that Rhett has been my Valentine for 7 years now!  I am such a lucky gal! :)
My sweet friend from work, Lauren, painted me this and gave it to me today!  She loves to paint and she really is so talented!  We really want to do Painting with a Twist here in Pensacola!  Lauren's watching for a really cool painting session for us to go to!
I was so happy to get home today and see both my loves!  I hadn't seen Lyla since Valentine's night and I missed her like crazy!  When I got home, they were out on the back porch and Rhett was "teaching" Ly to play the guitar! :)
She enjoyed that...can't you tell?!

My Guitar Man!

Rhett is a happy camper this weekend!  He has been wanting a guitar for forever now and he's been searching the local pawn shops for awhile now, and today he got his guitar!  We went to a pawn shop and got a really nice guitar for a real reasonable price.  His dad is self taught and every time we go over to his parent's house, Rhett picks up his dad's guitar and will spend who knows how long strumming it!  I literally have to pull him away from it!  He is bound and determined to learn how to play the guitar.  He even found a guitar for dummies app on the iPad.  I'm so happy he's happy, but right now...I have a  headache from listening to him play!  HA!  Not because he's bad, but just because he plays and plays and plays...WHAT have I gotten myself into!?
And just for the heck of it, here's a pick of Aubbie and Libby.  I always think it's so cute when I see them laying together or what not...they really are not your typical cat vs. dog scenario.
And of  course, here's my sweetheart!  She has gotten so good at smiling for the camera!!!

Monday night's Valentines Day!  I'm super excited because this Valentine's Day Rhett has gone out of his way to do something special for me!  He told me a few weeks ago that he made reservations for us somewhere that we've never been before for Valentine's Day.  He hasn't even told me yet!  He's so much better at secrets than I am!  I can't wait to find out where we're going! :)

Barney Live!

Oh yes!  Today was Barney day!  After church we (Opa too!) headed down to the Saenger Theater so that Ly could watch Barney in person!  She was kind of tentative during the first part of the show, but she rarely took her eyes off the stage.  By the end of the show she was clapping and trying to do the hand movements....it was so cute!  I am so glad she enjoyed it!
Here's my girl playing with her Barney light up wand....
BARNEY!!!
Baby Bop, I do believe "Bop" is Ly's favorite....even though she does love "Bahnee"
Streamers shot out into the audience several times during the show!
My family!  And you can see Miranda, Jubilee, and (headless) Kevin in the background...they sat behind us!  How crazy is that!?
Walking back to the car from the show!  SUCCESS!  Ly loved it! :)
She even got a souvenir....

Bad Kitty!

I meant to blog this weekend...however, our lovely kitty cat Libby chewed through the power cord to our lap top and the battery of course died.  So, I had to stop by Radio Shack today and get a new power cord and man, those things are freaking pricey!  Oh well, we have since relocated where we put the cord so Libby won't be tempted to chew it again.  Bad kitty!  Anywho, the pic above is of Ly and I snuggling in bed...she loves laying in bed with us!  This was after I got home from work...she wanted to snuggle with mommy and watch a little TV.  I love her.
So, on to what we did this past weekend.  We have pretty much deemed Friday nights "family night".  We try to go out and do something fun, just our little family.  This past Friday we used a gift card and went to Outback!  Oh yum!  Ly is pretty good in restaurants now a days.  If she gets rowdy, then I hand her my iPhone and let her watch a little Barney.  Because yes, I have a ton of Barney shows downloaded on my phone for emergencies. :)  Outback was fun and one of the servers even came by, said how cute Ly was, and said she looked exactly like ME!!!  And Rhett was sitting there so boo ya!
Saturday was one of the most beautiful days we've had around here in a  long time!  There were blue skies and it was warm enough to wear short sleeves, but still cool enough to wear jeans!  I loved it!  We decided to go to the park at Brosanham and while we were there, wouldn't you know it, there were flag football games going on.  You'll never guess who wanted to stay awhile and check those out...hmmm, I'll give you a hint.  His name starts with a Rh and ends with an ett!  So, stay we did.  I didn't mind because it was actually entertaining and like I said before, the weather was gorgeous.  Lyla had a wonderful time just simply running and running and running!  I'm glad she was able to get some energy out.  After the park and flag football, we came home and napped.   Lyla slept for a couple hours... she must have worn her little self out!
My cute girl and her cute pigs!

She was very interested in the flag football...
Lyla and mommy at the park...
 She's saying "catch me daddy"!
She loves going to the park!
So happy to spend my days with this sweet angel! :)
And well, that's about it.  It's been a long week and I am looking forward to the weekend!  Barney Live here we come!  Whoo hoo! :)
