A Sweet Soul

Today was a very long day at work. I had to train one of my clients (Vincson) to ride the bus so that he could get to his new job. Well, as many of you know it rained today...all day long. I picked Vincson up and took him to the bus stop closest to his house. He was going to ride the bus, and I was going to follow behind just to make sure he got to work okay. Anyway, before Vincson got out of the car into the rain I asked him if he wanted a towel to sit on at the bus stops and an umbrella. With the sweetest and most sincere expression on his face he said, "No, I'm straight. But thank you for asking". So, Vincson stood in the rain and waited for his bus to arrive. He had to stand in the rain a few different times because riding the bus is not just a straight shot to where you want to go... you have to get off one bus, wait, and get on another in order to get where you're going. It's a pain. That's my point though, it's a pain for me...but for Vincson, it was nothing. He didn't care, he was so happy to be going to work. Seriously. I've never met anyone like Vincson. He never complains about anything and is satisfied with everything in his life. I worked with him all afternoon and into the night while he learned his new job (which was dishwashing), and he never stopped smiling the entire time, even when water sprayed all over him. I left work today wanting to be more like Vincson. I really want to appreciate all the great things I have in my life and not complain so much about the negative aspects or "pains" that bother me so much. I wish there were more sweet souls like Vincson in the world.

Love Day♥

I thought Kristi's "Love to me is" list on her blog was sweet and I loved it so much that I decided to make one of my very own! After all, it is only fitting since today is the day of love...and well, love is definitely all around me!

Love is:

♥ Mimi sitting in my lap purring while I sit on my bed and play on the laptop.

♥ Rhett calling throughout the day just to say "hi".

♥ Aubbie getting so excited to see me that she just rolls on her back so I can rub her belly.

♥ Rhett's parents telling us that we will always have a place to stay.

♥ The little notes that say "I love you" from my mom when she sends me something in the mail.

♥ Jesse admitting that he me misses me.

♥ Emails from friends that make up for the fact that they live far away.

♥ Friends that are genuinely excited, seemingly more than me, about me and Rhett getting hitched.

♥ Hugs and an "I love you" from my dad when he knows I'm upset.

♥ Rhett making me feel beautiful everyday, without fail.

A nice little week

This week has been very relaxing...I love weeks like this. The kind where you really don't do anything at all. It's great. Wednesday, I met my cousin Jackie and my grandmother at the Bridal Suite so Jackie could get sized and order her dress. Jackie's adorable daughter Aubrey is going to be my Flower Girl so she came as well and tried on several different Flower Girl dresses. We finally found one, luckily, that was her size and on sale! YAY for cute little Flower Girls! All the bridesmaid dresses have been ordered! I just want to thank you girls because I know how much of a pain it is to do all this and pay all this money, but it really does mean the world to me that ya'll are going to be a part of it.
Friday, I had the day off from work and I got my hair highlighted. YAY! My hair had definitely been needing a little "something", but then again my hair always needs a little "something". Friday night, Rhett and I went to the Tate basketball game over in Ft. Walton to watch them play in the play offs. Rhett loves to show his support for Tate, and well, I actually like to watch all the sporting events. Tate played their hearts out, but unfortunately lost. After the game, Rhett and I were going to eat at a place in Destin Coach Murdock (the head bball coach) had recommended called Chops. He said that this place had the best steaks around. Rhett and I walked in and immediately we knew this place was way out of our price range. We picked up a menu and the cheapest steak was like $25!! So, we promptly turned around, left, and made our way to Longhorn. Later that night we went over to Rhett's friend Evan's house to hang out with all his friends and brother. I dusted off my old bartending skills and made everyone tons of shots. Easy-to-make ones of course because lets face it...I was never the best bartender. Anywho, I like Rhett's friends. I always laugh alot and have fun when we go over there.
Saturday, poor little Rhett was sick (not for the reason ya'll are probably thinking, he was coming down with a bad cold) so we literally just laid around all day. Saturday night, Wes and Kelly came over and we all watched The Guardian.

Sunday was my day for us to do what I wanted so....we went to the MALL! Rhett's favorite place ever! At first Rhett started to complain, but all I had to do was remind him of all the basketball games I went to and the day I went fishing with him this past week and he went back to having a smile on his face. I love the fact that our relationship is pretty equal. I do things he likes and he, in turn, does things I like to do. Anywho, so shopping we went. Rhett picked out his ring and I'm going to go and buy it this week once my tax return is deposited. YAY for tax returns! Well, that was our weekend. Nothing monumental, but relaxing and enjoyable none the less. It's nice to just do nothing sometimes. Have a great week everyone!

Fun New (actually old) Pictures!

Updating twice in one day...I know, I'm nuts! We just got a scanner and I've been scanning some fun, old pictures onto the computer! I am so excited! This is only the beginning because I really don't have alot of pictures here at Rhett's house. Here are a few that I scanned! YAY! Technology is great!

RHETT, MY LITTLE VAMPIRE!!

Strange is good!

Right now my life feels very weird and out-of-place, but it's strange because I've really never been happier. Rhett and I are doing fine at his parent's house, they've made us feel so at home. We are so thankful to them for letting us stay with them until our little house is built. They really are the sweetest people, and lucky me, I will be related to them soon!! I guess I lucked out in the in-law department. Rhett's taking up a new hobby (yes, along with fishing, hunting, football, and baseball), he's learning to play the guitar. He's teaching himself and he hasn't been able to put the guitar down since we've moved in! He's getting better everyday. Actually, right I'm listening to him now play some Hank Williams (yee haw) and he is too cute!! His dad plays too, and they are just having the best time critiquing each other! Anywho, the wedding planning is going to good. We've ordered our cake and we think we've found a flower person so we're pretty much at the end of all the difficult planning. Now, it's just the little things and the really MAJOR thing....money. I had absolutely no idea how much weddings actually cost and neither did my dad. Speaking of my dad, I have good news! He and Tammra are engaged! They both came over tonight and told me and Rhett the news! My dad said he took her out to the beach (he knew it was going to be a full moon) and asked her to marry him. Of course she said yes because she had a HUGE rock on her finger! It really is gorgeous. My dad and Tammra said that they haven't set a date but they are planning on it being towards the end of this year. Tammra said that they want to get married at the beach since that's where they had many special dates and memories. I really am very happy for them. It's a comforting feeling knowing that both my mom and dad are happy and where they are suppose to be now. I'm glad that they both have someone that they care about and can share their lives with. Soooooo.....it is a little strange though, I'm engaged the same time my dad is. But like I said before, my life is very weird and different right now...like it's never been before, but that's okay because I'm the happiest I've been in a long time.
