Cheerleading and The Zoo!

This year, our little Lyla participated in UpWard Cheerleading!  She loved it!  She cheered at basketball games every Saturday from June until August.  She had a great time, met a lot of great people, learned a lot about cheerleading (and that she loves it), and we can't wait to do it again next year! :)

Max turned two a couple of weeks ago and today we took him to the zoo to celebrate!  He had a great time!  He loved being pulled around in the wagon, feeding the animals, and of course, the train ride.  Lyla brought her friend, Haley.  Haley and Ly have been buddies since they were in Kindergarten together, but sadly, Haley is moving to California this week with her family.  We will miss that sweet girl, but she and Ly will most definitely be pen pals! :)  Here are some pics of our trip with the family to the zoo....

The wagons are always a hit,
"Hi Lyla"!
"Hi Max"!
Checking out the turtles....

Riding on the train...always a favorite.  The animals we saw during the train ride were really active today, which was awesome!
We love Mammy and Papa!
Ly feeding a parakeet... at least I think that's what type of bird that is.
A tree FULL of parakeets.  It was funny too, because at times they would ALL take off at the same time and fly around the pen.  I tried to get a picture of that, but alas, I was not successful.
Another favorite, feeding the farm animals.  What kid doesn't like this??  Haha...

Oh yes!  And feeding the giraffe too!  That was fun!
Monkeys.  The ones in the cage.
Photo op!  Ly and Haley.
Papa and Max.
Ryann and Wesley... who just got engaged and will get married next November!  I will soon have a sister-in-law and hopefully, not too long after that.... a niece or nephew!  I am dying for one of those!  :) :) :)
And Rhett and I!  :-P
Pretty girls.

The First Half of 2015

So, it's been awhile.  I think the last time I updated this good ole' blog was back when we went to Disney World in January.  Anywho, I'll try to recap the first half of 2015.  It's been a great year so far!  Our little Lyla turned 6 in March!  SIX!  She had a fun birthday party at Sam's Fun City.  At the end of May, Ly completed Kindergarten and Max completed his first year in the Ones class!  In June, Mimi came to visit us and then in July both Mimi and Pop Pop came to visit.  We always love it when they come see us!  We will be making our first trip to South Carolina this Christmas since Max was born.  12 hour road trips with a babe are definitely hard, but we're ready!  Let's see, Rhett is now a PE teacher at West Florida High School instead of an Algebra/Geometry teacher, like he was last year.  PE and football are definitely where his heart is.  In August Max turned 2!  TWO!  Ahhhh, my babies are growing up!  Also in August, Lyla started 1st grade at McArthur.  Her teacher is Mrs. Varner and Lyla loves her.  Max started the Twos class at CEC (where he's always gone) and his new teachers are Mrs. Joan, Mrs. Amy, and Mrs. Savannah.  Max has adapted well to the change and they have even started the process of potty training!  Oh yay!  In fact, I just bought Max his first pair of underwear.  We are excited about the rest of the year!   I can't believe 2015 is already half over.  I'm super thrilled though because the next part is my favorite time of the year!  Fall!  Halloween!  Thanksgiving!  Christmas!  Oh yes!  So much to look forward to!  Anywho, here are a few pics I took over the course of the first part of 2015, but just never uploaded until now.

Maxie and his pacies...
Lyla on her SIXTH Birthday!
A trip to the Gulf Breeze Zoo!  The kiddos loved it!  Especially riding in the wagon.
Feeding the giraffe....
My lovies and I checking out an exhibit at the zoo.
My boys!
Ly's been eating something blue I think...
Lyla at her Kindergarten play, Little Red Hen.  She was a chicken!  The cutest chicken I ever did see!
We redid Ly and Max's rooms too.  Max's room is a work-in-progress.  We are converting it into a big boy room when he's big enough to move from the crib to a bed (i.e. when he climbs out of his crib which surprisingly he hasn't done yet).  As far as Ly's room, Mimi and Pop Pop got her this AMAZING bunk bed.  It's equipped with stairs, drawers, and a computer desk underneath!  She's currently using the underneath part as a play area and that's also where her TV is.  Eventually, she'll have a computer there when she's older so she can do school work.  Needless to say, she loves her new room!  And so do I!
Buddies...Max and Biscuit.
I am going to really try and keep up with this blog.  I love documenting everything and having it available to look back on down the road.

Disney Part 2

This post is all Disney Photo Pass pics.  I loved how convenient it was just to walk up and say, "Can you please take our picture"?  It was nice.

Our first full day at Disney we went to Hollywood Studios.  We were planning to go to Magic Kingdom first, but there was a 60% chance of rain and I did not want it raining when we went to Magic Kingdom! :)  And rain it did.  We had ponchos and we used them!  Maxie, being Max, refused to wear his poncho, so we got him a Buzz Lightyear jacket which we loved and makes sound effects too!  Score.  We rode a few rides, most notably Rock N Rollercoaster.  That was mine and Rhett's first time riding and man, it did not disappoint.  It was fun!

My family at Hollywood Studios.  This was actually on our way out.  It had just stopped raining for a bit and we were headed back to the hotel to let Max (who was beyond tired) take a nap.  Bless his heart, he was not going to nap in the stroller, in the rain.  Haha.

Rock N Roller Coaster... the first time.  Wow.  That start takes your breath away.  It counts down "4, 3, 2, 1" and then shoots you off at 60 mph into a corkscrew.  Oh yehhh.

And we were crazy enough to ride it twice. :)

After Hollywood Studios and a nap for Max, we headed over to The Wilderness Lodge for dinner.  They had a gorgeous tree in their lobby (actually, there were gorgeous Christmas trees everywhere we looked at Disney) and a Photo Pass Photographer in front of it so we (I) jumped all over that!  Here's me and my girl.

My sweet in-laws.

 My handsome boys.

My family....

The Summerford Family Vacay!  Yay!

After dinner, Rhett's parents watched the kids for awhile so we could go to Epcot.  That was awesome!  Here's us in front of another Christmas tree.

K-I-S-S-I-N-G!  Ow Ow!

Test Track!  One of my favs!  We did single rider because that line is always a lot faster.  Here's Rhett....

And me....

Next was The Animal Kingdom!  And yep, it rained some that day too.  I was about sick of the rain!  Haha!  Here we are in front of the Tree of Life.  That is always so cool to see in person!

Family!

Ly's first "big" ride!  Dinosaur!  She liked it!  She rode it twice!

Oh Lord, Expedition Everest... is fun?  I suppose.  It scared the pee out of me (not literally).

That night, we went to Downtown Disney (where we also ate at Raglan Road).  Ly saw this sign and had asked to take a picture with it (where a Photo Pass person just happen to be, what luck)!  She's shy, so normally Rhett or I have to go with her to do things.  So, as Rhett did not want a photo with Anna and Elsa, I jumped in.

This photographer was hilarious and made us do funny poses... Like this one.  The kids were not impressed.  Haha!  The photographer guy also called Rhett and Wesley "twins".  Haha!  With their beards, they actually do look more alike than normal.

So, this was also New Years Eve.  Rhett's mom and dad watched Maxie and Ly came with us out to celebrate the New Year.  Have I mentioned how awesome my in-laws are?  I mean, really.  They are great.  I am so thankful.  :)  Ly slept most of the night, but she did wake up for fireworks which we watched in Magic Kingdom.  We just stopped for a pic at Epcot on the way to Magic Kingdom. ;-)

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh..... don't wake her up.  She slept the entire walk from The Boardwalk, through Epcot, on the monorail, and through most of Magic Kingdom.  We woke her up to ride The Haunted Mansion. :)

And on our final day, we went to Magic Kingdom.  And you know what, it didn't rain!  Haha!  Yayyyy!  It was kind of chilly for a little while though.  Anywho, here's my fam in front of the castle.

Ta-da!  It was a magical day!  Ly rode the teacups, Dumbo, The Haunted Mansion, Barnstormer, Big Thunder Mountain, and a few others.  Max rode some too.  :)

Sweet girl with Tinkerbell. :)

And on our final night, I wanted to plan something Lyla would love!  We went to Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for dinner and Ly loved it.  The Disney Princesses walk from table-to-table to visit and take pics.  Lyla was in awe, to say the least.  Her favorite was Princess Aurora.  Aurora chatted with Ly for a good while.  It was cute.  So glad we went.

All the fam with Princess Belle.

And that's all folks.  Our Disney Vacay was awesome!  I loved it!  Can't wait to go back!
