Simple and Sweet

This weekend was great! Not because we did anything special, but because of the opposite actually...we didn't do anything really at all! No plans, no where to be, nothing. Now of course, we did do things this weekend like softball games, a date night, grocery shopping, church etc.... but nothing pressing. You know.
First let me start off with Thursday afternoon/evening. Ly and I went over to The Manny's for a fun play date! We haven't seen them in a good while and we were feeling feeling much deprived! :) Ly and Kennedy played and played and had a fun girly pillow fight! The Manny's were kind enough to let Ly and I hang out until we had to go to the church softball game. I got Ly and I McDonalds since Jill was cooking Enchiladas for her fam and I didn't want to impose. It was funny though...Kennedy was suppose to eat a Gerber meal and Ly was suppose to eat a chicken mcnugget Happy Meal, but they didn't want their meal...they wanted what the other one had. Soooooo, Jill and I did the ole switch-er-roo and everyone was happy and ate! Thanks again for letting us hang out! :)
Two sweet little girls...
Playing on the bed is the funnest! :)
Cheese!
Friday night, Rhett had a softball tournament at the church so of course, Ly and I were in attendance and cheered for our fam. We watched two games and our team came in 2nd place! Whoo hoo! We were so proud of them (and glad that softball season is over)!
Saturday we were oh so lazy and just lounged around the house. That night my Dad (who LOVES to babysit) watched Ly for us so we could have a date night. It's a win-win situation. My Dad hangs with Ly and Rhett and I get some much needed alone time. Sweet. So off to Tokyo we went! It was really yummy and our cook was hilarious! He kept the conversation going with everyone all night! He even told two young high school girls that if they brought in their report cards next time and had good grades then he would give them extra rice! HA! Very pro school he was! :) After dinner we rented a couple movies, picked up our baby girl, and headed home for a nice quiet night.
Ly and I before we headed to my Dad's to drop her off...
KISSES ARE MY FAVORITE!! I cannot stress that enough! Baby kisses are the sweetest!
Family! PS, Rhett said "why do you alway chop my head off in pics"?! And I said, "well, there's a height difference duh"! Since when does he care about pictures?! Hmmm...
Oh this was hilarious! Rhett handed Ly a cup full of Aubbie's food so she could help feed Aubbie (she's becoming quite the helper BTW), so she starts off towards Aubbie's food bowl with the cup and just lets loose once she reached the food bowl and this was the result... She was just trying to help!
Sunday was very rainy. Plus, Tokyo didn't sit right with me. It's a shame because it is my favorite restaurant, but man, is it rough on my belly! Alot rougher this time than normal because I felt sick! But we still went to church and then lunch and then grocery shopping. After all that I felt yucky, so I took a nice long nap while my sweet hubby played with Lyla. I am so thankful he is so sweet and so very helpful when he's home! What I'd do without him I do not know! That evening I felt loads better so Rhett cooked Shish Kabobs and let me tell you they were delish! We had yet another quiet night at home.I won't lie, I love keeping busy and having fun stuff to do. But sometimes it's so nice to just do nothing. Can I get an Amen?!

Progress!

Over the past couple of weeks Rhett and I have been working on the outside of our house. Organizing the garage, cleaning up the back porch, planting new plants, placing bird feeders in our backyard, placing potted plants here and there, etc.... just to make it a little nicer and have more of a homey feel. Anywho, it's definitely a work-in-progress.
Our back porch... We use to have the huge grill (which in now in the garage) on it and couldn't fit much else because our porch is quite small,as you can see. So now, we have room to make it a little cuter. Like I said, I have some more ideas and I want more potted plants and decor back there, but we're still working on it. :) One thing Rhett and I both really wanted were wind chimes. I love the sound they make! The mat on the back porch. Pretty fitting especially because of who you see looking out the sliding glass door. :)
We have both recently gotten into bird watching. Yes, we're boring we know! HA! So, we decided to get a couple bird feeders to place throughout the back yard to attract the birds or as Lyla calls them "bur dees".
We've had this bird bath FOREVER just sitting in a box in the garage... I am so happy Rhett found it while cleaning out the garage! :)
These next few pictures are just some randoms...
These three absolutely love each other and are great friends! Lyla is forever chasing the "kieee" and "Auuuu"!
They don't even care that she crawls all over them... literally...
Libby Lu
Lyla loves her kitty!
Lyla and her Mommy (that's me!)...she's so cute and is really understanding the camera now. Whether or not she really wants to be in a picture, she still leans in towards me when I'm taking a picture of us...it's so cute! She knows what Mommy's doing! And she LOVES to look at the pictures on the screen. That's probably her favorite part of the picture taking process.
She's smizing AKA smiling with her eyes! Yes, I watch ANTM (America's Next Top Model)!
That's all folks. I'm looking forward to an uneventful and boring weekend with nothing to do! :)

My Apologies...

for the overly large banner. I honestly can't get it any smaller than that without it looking off center on my blog page. I think I have carpel tunnel from trying for so long... Anywho, just thought I would give the old blog a little face lift.

A Weekend of Reunions!

We had two reunions this weekend! TWO! Rhett's High School reunion and my yearly family reunion. We were busy, to say the least.
Friday night we went to Crabs on the beach for Rhett's 10 year HS reunion. I cannot even believe it's been 10 years already. And no, I did not take one single picture. Why you ask? Well, because I LOVE my camera but that sucker is huge and too big to take in to a bar type setting. At least for me anyway. Anywho, we were nervous to go at first (you know, seeing folks you haven't seen in forever) but then once we started talking to people we started to have a really great time. I even saw Andy and Robyn Webre (Robyn graduated with Rhett). Andy is my brother Jesse's best friend. They've known eachother since elementary school, so by proxy I've know Andy for forever! He and my brother are seriously the funniest people you will ever meet. I am so glad we got to catch up a bit. Anywho, after the reunion we headed over to Flounders with a few of the reunion goers. We didn't stay long because this Momma was tired and I knew we had to pick up Ly from Rhett's parent's house early in the morning. So home we went. We got home at around 2:00 am. That's the latest I've been out in a long long long long long long long (you get the picture) time. I am so happy we went though. I really have not laughed that hard in a long time. Not to mention, Rhett had a great time!
This is just a random photo. I just thougt it was funny because Lyla was putting make up on/brushing her Daddy. :) See...
And of course, she LOVES to stomp all over us. :)
Saturday was my family reunion! Every year we go up to my Grandparent's house in Century and see family from all over that we never see (except once a year)! We had a great time there too. The food is always awesomely good (country cookin', what do you expect?)! I made deviled eggs and those suckers must have been good because they were gone in like 10 mins. Of course, deviled eggs are always a favorite of everyones. Lyla enjoyed everyone's company. She was shy at first (like right when we got there), but soon she was walking up to everyone and playing with other kids. My Granddaddy even took the kids on a sort of "hay ride" except with no hay. They have a ton of property up in Century complete with two ponds and a bunch of cows. Lyla had fun on the "hay ride" and she also enjoyed checking out the cows. Rhett went fishing for a little bit so I know he had a great time!
Here's Ryan, Rhett, and my Dad...
Monica, Ryan's wife, (that's for you Mom, because I know you're thinking "who's that"?) and Tucker with Lyla....
Baby Tucker Scully
More family hanging out on the porch...
My Dad actually took this picture. He did a pretty good job I think! :)
My Grammy showing us how she works out! HA! :) I love my Grammy!
Our favorite part....SUPPER TIME!
Lyla loved this salad type stuff. It's like Pistachio Salad except pink. Anywho, I think she loved it because it was pink (and good)!
Being a very big girl and using a spoon... she almost always insists on using a fork or a spoon now.
Sitting in the mini rocking chair on my Grandparent's front porch. She loves to rock...
My Grandparent's have blueberry trees on one side of their house and so we decided to go pick and eat some. Lyla LOVED them! She even liked picking them herself. :)
Eating homeade ice cream...which is a staple at the Smith Family Reunions. Had some both days. Mmmm....
And this is of course what happens when Rhett took too long to give her a bite (he was a taking a bite himself...bad idea)...she gets reaaaaaaaal upset....

My Wonder Woman!

Basically, this is just a random post with pictures taken over the past two days. Enjoy.
My sweet Lyla Her sweet friend CaydenBaby play date = LOTS AND LOTS OF CUTENESS! :)
Lyla is 15 and 1/2 months and Cayden is almost 1! Here they are playing in his playroom...
For my Mom...here are the pictures I printed out and frames you bought me! I love them! :) The others are throughout the house as well!
Me and Lyla. We're just alike...
Okay, nevermind. Her and her Daddy are just alike! I mean geez! I'm guessing our next child will be the spitting image of me... Cause Ly is so her Daddy made over! :)
We went over to my Dad's house to eat dinner and Ly kept walking in my room (which is right around the corner). It was just crazy to think because I was walking these halls when I was her age!! Craziness!
I love her!
Excited about the blueberry cobbler!
She was eating with a spoon! We were so proud of her. And yes, she LOVED the blueberry cobbler!
She's growing up!
I love that face. It says to me "get the camera out of my face MOM"!
WONDER WOMAN!!
See! She's so strong! :) HA! Check out that face!!!

Trip to SC Part Deuce!

Hmm, now where did I leave off...
Tuesday was a mall day. We went shopping all day long. Charlie and Rhett went and ran some errands that night for Charlie's work so my Mom, Ly, and I had to fend for ourselves! We went to Conway Chinese Buffet and it was icky. We did enjoy eachother's company though. :)
Wednesday we decided to walk around downtown Conway. Downtown Conway is a cute little town with cute little stores, so we had fun being touristy and checking them all out. For lunch we went to the Rivertown Bistro. It was pretty good if I do say so myself. It would have been better had Ly not been throwing a complete and utter temper tantrum of all temper tantrums! For dinner that night we decided to get pizza!! My Mom and Charlie wanted to see exactly how much Ly loved pizza. And well, they weren't disappointed. That's one thing about Ly, she can eat...alot.
Thursday was the best day ever! We went to Wild Waters Waterpark and had a great time, but I already posted about that (see post below). After the waterpark we were pooped out!! We came home, my Mom and Charlie cooked a yummy meal, and then we played cards. Basically every night we were there we either played Scrabble or card games (Oh Hell and Gin in particular).
Friday we just wanted to spend time at home together. We played some more card games, played with Ly in her baby pool, and ate delicious steaks cooked by Charlie. I told my Mom that I was pretty sure our "last meal" there was always steaks. Which, I love so it's fine by me. It's always a nice send off!
Saturday was of course, the day we had to leave. :( I am not even exaggerating when I say that the week flew by! I mean, it felt like we had just gotten there and now it was already time to leave! We woke up at the crack of dawn and prepared for our 10+ hour trip home. My Mom and Charlie went to Hardees for breakfast with us to say goodbye. My poor Mom just cried and cried and cried when we said goodbye. I think it is so much harder for her to say goodbye to Lyla than us. She loves us and all, but Lyla is something special. Lyla definitely misses her Mimi and Pop Pop! We can't wait to see y'all again soon! :) Anywho, we got on the road and stopped in Jacksonville to meet Jesse for lunch at Chick-fil-a. I was so glad we got to see him again! He's hysterical!
Well, that's about it for the trip recap. We had a great time and we're glad to be all settled again at home. Ever since we've gotten home we've been cleaning and reorganizing and such. I can't wait to relax tonight! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I am NOT looking forward to going back to work tomorrow!
Lyla has figured out doornobs. She can't quite turn them yet, but she sure is working on them. I'm not looking forward to the day she learns to open a door!
Another pic from the waterpark....
Buddy! Ly loved Buddy and Bebe! She chased them around pratically the entire time we were there!
Ly and Mimi playing in the pool on our last day there...
And here's what the boys were doing...
Lyla sure does love playing with her Mimi! Ly and I
Mimi letting Ly try some of her homeade Ranch dressing. Ly loved it!
More Mimi, more!
Helping Mimi cook. Lyla helped my Mom cook alot this week...
Ly in her green M&M outfit! Too cute! :) She has some pink cheeks too from playing at the waterpark.
She played cards too!
She loved the cards, my Mom even let her take a deck home with her....
Jesse and I at Chick-fil-a...
Lyla and her Daddy... she was smiling at her Uncle Jesse. :)

I am so glad we got to see him again!
