Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} how tall are you?

5'6"ish.... give or take.

{two} besides bills, what do you spend most of your money on?

Oh gosh, Lyla (clothes, activities, toys, etc...).  And then food is probably close 2nd.

{three} what are your three favorite websites?

Facebook, Lamebook (hilarious!), and blogs in general (I can't just pick one!)

{four} what brand of tennis shoes do you prefer?

Sketchers.  Those are actually the only tennis shoes I own.

{five} what food can you absolutely not stand to eat?

Squash!  BARFFFF!  My mom use to cook it all the time when I was little and MAKE me eat it!  I cried and held my nose.  She tortured me!  :) he he... at least that's what I felt back then!

{six} How many pairs of jeans do you own?

I have about 4 pair that I really do wear all the time.  However, I have a bunch more in a drawer...but I don't like to talk about those.  Those are from my pre baby days and will probably never fit properly again! HA!

{seven} if you could have any job, what would it be?

Oh goodness, I don't know.  Do I have to have a job?!  What if my dream job is to not have a job...

{eight} have you ever ridden in an ambulance?

Yes, once.  Car accident.  A school bus rear ended me.  Nice.

{nine} how many pillows do you sleep with?

Two.  Use to only be one, then somehow it became two and now I need two.  Maybe it'll be three one day.  Who knows.

{ten} on a scale of 1-5, how organized are you?

Hm, I'd say 3-4.  I like things to be neat and in place, but I'm also okay with a little chaos.

A whole lot of Barney going on!

This weekend Ly and I spent a lot of time together "just us".  Which, I thoroughly enjoyed.  Rhett had a fishing tournament and then a coaching camp thing in Mobile.  Over the weekend Ly and I played a ton, watched Barney, ate yummy food, napped, and just enjoyed each other's company. :)  Lyla is growing up so fast!  She's really starting to understand everything we say.  For example I'll say, "Let's change your diaper and then we'll watch Barney" and she'll say, "Okay" and go to her room to get changed.  It just shocks me at how quick little ones learn!  We've also started potty training.  It's hard.  I'll say that.  I'll tell her things (while she's on the potty) like "Barney would be so proud of you if you went pee pee in the potty" and I can tell that she's trying (squeezing, pushing), but nothing.  It's just one of those things that will come when she's ready I guess.  And if you haven't noticed, Lyla's a bit obsessed with Barney.  I'm so excited because she'll be seeing Barney Live! (the name of the show) and in person February 6th!  I honestly cannot wait to see the look on her face when she sees Barney and Baby Bop and BJ... yeh, I watch a little too much Barney now too I think.
And in other news, I thought I'd start a little mini blog for the purpose of posting pictures and videos of only Lyla (from my phone).  I tried the Blog Press app and for some reason, it just kept looking funny on my blog or it didn't post videos....basically, I was just having problems with it.  So I decided to try out Tumblr.  And well, we'll see how it goes.  So far, so good.  Check it out... Princess Lyla.  It'll just be short snippets of our Princess.  Yes, I'm corny I know.  I accept that fact. :)

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} name one thing you worry about running out of.

Food.  What can I say... me and food, we're tight.

{two} what is your favorite pizza topping?

Onions and Bell Peppers

{three} what is your favorite harrison ford movie?

Oh, toughy.  Um, I have a few.  All the Star Wars (yes I am a nerd) and all the Indiana Jones.  Oh, and The Fugitive!  Awesome movie.

{four} apple juice or orange juice?

Apple Juice.  Not really a fan of oj.

{five} what’s your favorite thing to do on a sunday afternoon?

Church, lunch, then just relax.  That's my kind of Sunday!

{six} what is the wallpaper on your cellphone of?

Home screen: just a pretty wallpaper I found in the app store
Lock screen: a cute picture of Lyla with pigtails and a sticker that says she's a "wow" kid

{seven} do you have a favorite tv commercial?

Not really.  I have ones that I hate though.  The Progressive commercials.  That lady drives me nuts.

{eight} what is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

Hmm, maybe mud when I was a little kid.  My brother always tells the story of me having a "tea party" at the mud puddle.

{nine} what is one piece of clothing you can’t live without?

Jeans.  I love a great pair of comfy jeans.  Oh, and my turkey shirt! :)

{ten} if you were a character from “lost”, who would you be?

Only watched the first season and then I got, well, lost.  But I honestly can't remember any of the characters.

Family Time

We had a really fun, low-key kind of weekend. Friday night we decided to use a gift card I got for my b-day (thanks Mom!), so we went to Olive Garden. Lyla and I split spaghetti which she loves, but I think her favorite thing that night were the breadsticks....
Saturday we decided to go to Chick-fil-a which is where Lyla thoroughly enjoys the fruits cups (mostly just the grapes and apples) and she also likes the lemonade too! We played in the kids area for awhile. Lyla even went up in to the tubes! However, she got lost and guess who had to get her... ME!!! Rhett said he was too big to go crawling in those tubes so I guess that left me?! Nice. :)
After Chick-fil-a we went to this cute little park at Brosanham right down the road from us. We just realized it was there not too long ago (actually when I went to vote in November because it was right next door) and it is very convenient and close to home. Lyla had a great time and she loved going down the slides!
After the park we all came home and Ly napped. We then went over to my Dad's so he and Rhett could fix his boat. We ate a yummy pot roast over there too! Mmm Mmm! Here's me and my girl!
Sunday we went to church and then to eat at Ruby Tuesdays to celebrate my Aunt Val and my Granddaddy's birthdays! Their birthdays are on the same day, January 15th. That afternoon, Ly and I hung out (and watched Barney I'm sure, it's Ly's new obsession) while Rhett had a meeting at church. I cooked breakfast for dinner which is always a fav at our house, especially for Ly.
Monday Rhett and I both had off of work (YAY)! We decided to go see what this new place Triple Play was all about. It's a huge place with lots of inflatables and it's right around the corner from our house! I'll be honest...Lyla was not too thrilled about the inflatables. They scared her in fact, so Rhett and I both took turns and went down a slide with her a couple times....
Of all the stuff there, Ly really loved this dollhouse/playhouse...
And this market place set up....
I'm thinking she'll really enjoy the inflatables in another year... :)
Anywho, I had such a nice weekend with my family. I truly do cherish the time I spend with them now more than ever!

A Happy Birthday

Well, today's my birthday and as I near 30, I can't help but be so thankful for the loves of my life. My husband (who of course is taking this picture) and my baby girl mean everything to me. I could not imagine spending a birthday without them. The future surely looks so very bright with them in it! :)

Believe it or not...

My husband will actually start posting from time to time on here. Shocking, I know. His first post is below this one, so be sure to read it. :) I'm happy that he wants to be an active member of our blog! Basically, this blog has been from my perspective only so it'll be nice to see what he writes!

Happy New Year!!!!

To bring in the new year we thought that we would bring a different perspective to the family blog. That's right, now that I have a little more time on my hands I may post from time to time. Now on to my first post!!!
Well what a busy holiday. Christmas, New Year and Heather's birthday. For Heather's birthday we went to The Melting Pot. It was a good time for her and I. It has been a long time since it was just me and Heather out together. Though we missed Lyla the whole night. It is funny because for us when we are able to go out together the conversations are always about Lyla and the little things we love about her. The Melting Pot is not my favorite restaurant but Heather loves it. I think the only reason she likes it is for the atmosphere and the chocolate dessert. Then, after the dinner Heather wanted to go see Tron. I was a little skeptical like all movies we go see. Heather and I have a totally different taste for movies. Though, last night Tron was a great movie that I really enjoyed. This morning I went and got Lyla from my parents and since then basically we have just laid around and been lazy watching football, MY FAVORITE kind of days. That's it for now plus the Rose Bowl is on and it is very important to my pick em league. Go Badgers!! None of this matters as long as Auburn Wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
