Baby Max Gets Baptized
Today was a very special day. Baby Max got baptized (or dedicated, christened, or whatever you prefer to call it). For Rhett and I myself, we both think it's important we raise our children in church. We want to instill in Lyla and Max at an early age the values of a Christian. We love our church, Pine Forest United Methodist, so much. It's just small enough to where everyone knows your name and we have come to think of our church members as family. Today was a day in which Rhett and I made a promise to God to raise Max as a Christian. As Pastor Ron was describing what a baptism entails and it's purpose, I got teary eyed thinking about what I want out of life for my children. I want my children to grow up knowing God as their Savior. I want them to be good people and productive members of society. I want them to make the good and right choice, no matter how hard. All of the above is certainly not easy, and God knows I have not always made the right choice. I want better for my children and God is the way to that. We love our church and we can't wait to see Lyla and Max grow and become active members.
Our family of four after the service...
We have alot of support from our family...
Baby Max getting baptized....
Our family with Pastor Ron. He has been a huge part of mine and Rhett's spiritual growth. We will him and his wife Diane as they move to Tennessee to retire next year.
After the baptism...
Lyla attended her first "Children's Moments" this morning. She has officially graduated from the nursery to Children's Church. She's growing up. Max will start staying in the nursery next week, so as we have one leave the nursery another one goes in.
Rhett and I with our little guy. He did so good during the baptism. Even when the cold water was poured on his head. :)
The grandparents and great grandparents. We are truly blessed to have so many people that love our children as their own.
Max fell asleep with his hands in his eyes shielding them from the sun. So cute! :)
And finally, the big boy at lunch after church. He and his sister are my heart and my world.
